Nightlife in Koh Samui

Many travelers consider Samui a quiet and calm resort without any evening activities. But they are mistaken. This magical island successfully combines calm beach holiday with an active nightlife. Chaweng District

Nightlife entertainments are concentrated in the most popular tourist district of the island - Chaweng. Loud music is playing and bright lights are burning along Soi Reggae and Soi Green Mango streets every evening.

The most popular and best club at the island is the Green Mango night club. On any day of the week here you can meet crowds of tourists from different countries. There are two dance floors with different music. Prices in the Green Mango are quite low, there is an atmosphere of fun and friendliness. There are also two dance floors, bars with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the nearby Sound club.

If you want to dance in the open air at the seaside, you should definitely visit the Ark Bar. This popular bar at the coastline of Chaweng Beach is open round the clock. Here you can dance, drink cocktails or enjoy the Thai cuisine. You can also enjoy live music at the outdoor bar Reggae Pub with large assortment of beer and quite affordable prices. Visitors of the Solo Bar can have a rest from loud music and just relax while smoking a hookah and listening to the musicians.

Local residents prefer to have fun at the Sweet Soul Cafe. The menu in the bar includes beer, champagne, wines and special cocktails. There are also two cabaret shows in Chaweng. You can also visit Thai boxing fights which are held at the new Thai Boxing Stadium every evening.

Lamai District

Night clubs are also located in the neighboring Lamai District.

The pub is also famous for delicious dishes of different cuisines and musicians playing live music. Muay Thai fights are held regularly at the main street of the district and Lamai Stadium. If famous boxers are not involved in the battles, the entrance for guests will be free.

Phangan Island

Although Samui nightlife is not as active and exotic as in Bangkok or Pattaya, tourists have an opportunity to visit the famous Full Moon Party, which takes place every full moon at the nearby Phangan island. Thousands of people come to the island to dance all night and to listen to the most popular hits of the year. Clothing and accessories of acid colors, glowing in the dark tattoos, delicious cocktails and a lot of fun are the main features of this party. Many tourists stay overnight at the coast after the party to see beautiful sunrise. You can get from Koh Samui to Phangan by ferry which runs every day. The trip takes about an hour.
